My Professional Bio

I have over twenty years of experience in the field of legal and regulatory compliance. I started my career as an attorney at an AmLaw100 firm, where I handled all aspects of civil litigation cases. Later, I joined the Commercial Litigation branch of the U.S. Department of Justice where I served as first-chair in complex civil litigation trials.
I am currently the Chief Compliance Officer at The Fortune Society, a 600-person non-profit organization that supports the successful reentry of formerly incarcerated individuals into society through services like housing, education, and employment.
In addition to earning my law degree from Georgetown Law Center in 2002, I completed my dissertation and earned a Ph.D. from Georgetown University’s Government Department in 2008.
My Personal Bio
I grew up in New York but have called Washington DC home since 1998. I've been married for nearly 20 years and I'm a father of two (a boy and a girl). I love seeing live music and try to attend at least one music festival per year. I've traveled to 49 countries across all 7 continents, I played Division III college basketball, and I spent a year in Federal prison. During Covid I bought a laundromat that serves the Petworth community and taught myself how to fix washing machines and dryers. My idea of a perfect evening is listening to great music while making a delicious meal, and then sitting down for a nice dinner with friends or family.
